Description
Protect a property from rising damp with an extremely durable
damp proof course (DPC). Save9 DPC membranes prevent
dampness in the wall structure along with the associated issues
with mould and damage to internal decoration. A damp proof
course (DPC) is a physical barrier that prevents water from moving
up a wall. Our DPC Membranes are specially formulated so that
they may provide excellent resistance to radon gases and have
high puncture tear resistance. The coating dries to form a black
flexible protective film. The finished film forms a tough barrier to
vapor transmission.
APPLICATION METHOD
SURFACE PREPARATION
The surface shall be cleaned thoroughly of all contaminants such as dust, traces of curing compound, oil and grease.
All surface imperfections and protrusions must be removed and repaired.
Structurally unsound and friable concrete must be removed and repaired with a suitable repair mortar or PMM.
PRIMING
Primer is always recommended prior to coating as it penetrates into the concrete pores and seals the substrate.
It also acts as an adhesion promoter for further coatings.
It is advised to use TT Bitumen Primer.
The primer may be applied by brush, roller or airless spray.
Allow the primer to dry before applying further coats.
If the primer is left open for more than 24 hours after drying, clean any settled dust and apply a fresh coat of primer.
APPLICATION NOTE
Application temperature should be between 5°C to 55°C.
Application procedures may vary slightly depending upon site conditions.
DPC membranes are best installed in new construction.
The membrane can be installed within brick, stone and concrete walls.
They are suitable for vertical DPC as well as horizontal applications.
They are not suitable above lintels or for spanning across cavity walls.
The DPC membrane must be installed minimum 150 mm above ground level.
Peel the release film and press the membrane firmly onto the surface.
